About me
Hello. My name is Barb Landon, one of the Barbara Ann originals! I was raised in a small town in Northeast Pennsylvania. After graduating high school, I pursued education, earning degrees in Elementary/Special Education. I furthered my education with a Masters Degree in Special Education and Technology Education. I taught for 34 years, including special education, grades K-4; fifth grade all subjects; and computers at the middle school level. I worked with engineers and networked all of the schools in the district with fiber and became the Technology Coordinator. My husband, Jim, also taught Special Education for 35 years. After retiring we began raising our granddaughters, Kyleigh and Lily, inspiring my journey into children's books. My husband always tells me I live in a Cartoon World! The girls laugh because I am always making up stories when we travel or new words to the songs we sing on the radio.

What Inspired me
Being teachers, we know how important it is to learn how to read and do math. I am an avid reader and so I passed this onto the girls. As babies and toddlers we were always reading, coloring and telling stories. The girls have favorite animals- Lily loves dragons and Kyleigh loves hedgehogs. Needless to say, I made up stories about their favorite animals.

My Core Values
My husband and I look at the world today with all the discontent in the environment. We often question why people cannot get along. Why can’t people accept others that are different from them? Why can’t people work together to make mankind better. These are concepts that we stress with the girls- be kind, be respectful, be a good listener and work together. Try to be positive and be a giver, not a taker.
What Makes My Books Stand Out
I try to inspire kindness, teamwork, empathy and love for others. I try to find subjects that kids love
Take Away Message
People should be open minded and work for what is best in their life. Helping others, in the long run, helps yourself.
“Great things happen to those who don't stop believing, trying, learning, and being grateful.”
Story Teller
I taught for many years. My students called me the story teller because, no matter what I taught, I had a story to go with it. Parents would tell me that their child remembered the lesson because of the story.
